“2025 was a defining year for Wizz Air. We rapidly expanded our fleet, launched hundreds of new routes and carried more passengers than ever before, all while becoming a more reliable operation. This scale of operations and the performance improvements that come with it are what set us apart,” CEO József Váradi said.

“Looking ahead to 2026, we want to go even further. Our focus is firmly on accelerating growth in Central and Eastern Europe and unlocking opportunities in high-potential but underserved markets. We are building an airline that not only follows demand but creates it. We will continue to push boundaries to offer more choice, better affordability and an improved experience for millions of passengers,” he added.

Wizz Air added 42 new aircraft to its fleet in 2025, supporting both network expansion and greater operational efficiency. The airline operated nearly 335,000 scheduled flights across its network and launched more than 320 new routes, improving connectivity both within Europe and beyond.

Passenger demand remained strong, with some 68.6 million travelers flying on Wizz Air services during the year, a 9.4% increase compared with 2024.

The airline said it strengthened maintenance, ground handling, workforce planning and operational processes, contributing to improved punctuality across the network.

Key operational indicators for 2025 included a flight completion rate of 99.61%, the second-highest among major European airlines. Some 73.38% of flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule, placing Wizz Air in the top 10 among Europe’s leading carriers, while 77.98% of flights arrived within 15 minutes, also ranking in the top 10.

The results reflect continued progress toward the airline’s reliability targets, with further improvements expected as operational initiatives mature in 2026.

On routes to and from Budapest and Debrecen, Wizz Air carried 7.4 million passengers in 2025, up 13.8% year on year. The airline operated 34,500 scheduled flights, completing 99.74% of them.

On-time performance on Hungarian routes improved by 22.5% compared with the previous year.

The airline said it will continue to prioritize operational stability, digital tools and the maintenance of one of the world’s youngest fleets to further improve punctuality, flexibility and customer experience in 2026.
