On 30 January 2025, the Minister for Housing, Local Government & Heritage, received notification from the Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure (DfI) in relation to development consent applications concerning the proposed Dalradian Gold Mine Project and an invitation to participate in transboundary EIA consultation in relation to it. The environmental screening process identified potential transboundary issues for Ireland relating to the River Finn.
Subsequently, on 20 February 2025, following consultation with relevant subject matter experts on the potential transboundary impacts of the proposed development, the Minister accepted the invitation to participate in transboundary EIA consultation. This public consultation is being held in accordance with article 132 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 – 2024.
Submissions are open for the Part VIII Planning Application for Carlow Town Centre Public Realm and Pedestrian Linkage URDF Regeneration Project
Carlow County Council has prepared a Final Map for 2025 identifying land that may be in liable for the tax in 2025 and an Annual Draft Map for 2026 of the land considered to be in scope for the RZLT as of January 1st 2025.

The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme provides short term immediate financial support to people whose homes are damaged by flooding or other severe weather events and who are not able to meet costs for essential needs, household items and, in some instances, structural repair. It is administered by the Community Welfare Service.

Dr. Sullivan as part of Féile Lonrach – Festival of Glow Shop Local, Shop Carlow campaign went Back to the Future with an exciting online competition. Participants guessed 5 locations the Doc went to on his travels DeLorean style for a chance to win a €500 shopping voucher for SuperValu. With over 1,000 entries the competition showcased the enthusiasm for supporting local businesses over the Christmas period.
On Monday 12th January Carlow County Council was delighted to host a celebration event in honour of the outstanding achievement of Carlow’s 2025 Community Games All-Ireland Champions with their families, coaches, volunteers and members of Carlow Community Games Committee.
