Northern and Western Region of Ireland will be defined as a “More Developed Region” for the next EU funding period
The Northern and Western Regional Assembly has released its latest “Regional Economic Briefing Note” with the February 2026 edition providing regional and county infographics on the CSO’s latest data on GDP and disposable income.

The purpose of the “Regional Economic Briefing Notes” is to provide stakeholders in the Northern and Western Region of Ireland with a brief update on the latest data releases related to the region. The key findings are as follows:
