The Northern and Western Regional Assembly (NWRA) proudly sponsored the 2025 Connacht–Ulster Regional Session of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) Ireland, held at the University of Galway from 7th to 9th November 2025 . Over 100 4th, 5th and 6th year second level students from all across Connacht and Ulster took part in the three-day event, which was expertly organised and coordinated by Ella Joyce and Órlaith Nugent.
On Saturday, November 8th, NWRA Cathaoirleach Cllr Michéal Frain addressed the students, sharing insights from his experience as an elected member of Roscommon County Council and the NWRA. He spoke about his involvement in community projects and initiatives and highlighted the vital role young people play in shaping the future of our region. Cllr Frain encouraged participants to make their voices heard through active engagement in debates and public consultations.
